A prompt is a question a buyer asks an AI assistant, like “best invoicing tool for small agencies”. Jam asks every tracked prompt on every platform on every scan.

Prompt capacity

Your plan sets how many prompts you can track, from 50 to 1,000 in steps of 50. get_prompt_cap shows the cap and how much room is left. Adding past the cap is refused.

Topics and personas

Every prompt has a topic (prompts without one go under “General”) and a persona. The API also accepts control, which setup treats like branded. Topic and persona are set when a prompt is added. Rewording a prompt keeps them; to change either, remove the prompt and add it again.

Change what is tracked

Edit prompts on the dashboard’s prompts page, or over the API and MCP: add_prompt takes 3 to 500 characters and is safe to retry: a text the project already tracks answers 200 with existing: true. Setup (and agent connect) asks for 8 to 300 characters and at most 15 topics.
Write prompts the way a buyer would type them, without your brand name. Branded and competitor questions are worth tracking, but they do not move your visibility score.
